This course provides you with the knowledge, theory and practical ability to operate a telescopic materials handler including pre-op checks, raising, lowering and moving materials, swapping attachments, relocating the machine, maintenance and housekeeping. This course can be personalised for all skill levels.
Where the plant is fitted with a personnel box attached directly to the main boom and the personnel box can be extended 11 metres or more the operator requires an elevated work platform (WP) certificate.
Where the plant is fitted with other attachments i.e. bucket or forks etc, a Telehandler competency is all that is required.
There is no licence associated with this course.
A High Risk Work (HRW) licence for a non-slewing mobile crane operation (CN) is required for this plant when used as a crane where the capacity exceeds 3 tonne and when fitted with a boom or jib and hook block.
In order to participate in this course, participants are required to:
– have basic english reading and writing skills to pass the Language, Literacy and Numeracy assessment (LLN)
– be agt least 16 years of age
– provide two (2) forms of ID (identification)
– wear steel capped or safety boots and appropriate clothing, hat and sunscreen
This training program is approximately 1 – 3 days depending on an individual?s prior knowledge of the industry and learning needs.
