Do you need a licence?

You do not require a HRW licence if operating a scissor lift or a boom-type elevating work platform (boom length under 11 meters).

To safely and legally operate an a boom-type elevating work platform (boom length 11 metres or more) in a NSW workplace you must:
– be licensed and competent to operate
– follow safe operating procedures including following the traffic management rules at your workplace.

Duration

The total duration for this course is 16 hours (2 days) as follows for both skilled and non-skilled operators.

The course duration is 22 hours (including 16 hours of training):
– 10 hours of supervised theory instruction
– 6 hours of supervised practical instruction (simulated workplace)

Learning Outcomes

On successful completion of this program, participants will receive the nationally recognised Statement of Attainment for:

The course covers all aspects of the ADG Code together with relevant legislation, including classification, marking, documentation, stowage and load restraint, segregation and compatibility as well as the responsibilities of the individuals involved.

Do you need a licence?

A Dangerous Goods Driver Licence (DGDL) is required for the transport of dangerous goods in the following cases:
– in a receptacle with a capacity of more than 500L
– if there is more than 500kg in a single receptacle
– in the case of IBCs, where the total capacity of all IBCs is more than 3000L or where any IBC is filled or emptied while on the vehicle.

This course is only a part of the process for obtaining a DGDL.

To apply for a dangerous goods driver’s licence

You must:
– complete this course
– be certified as medically fit to drive by a general practitioner
– provide a certified driving history record of satisfactory driving
– provide a passport-sized photograph and a copy of your vehicle driver’s licence
apply online through eConnect and pay the application fee within 6 months of undertaking the training and the medical assessment

The duration of this course is 2 days. This is a mandatory and national requirement imposed by the Dangerous Goods Competent Authorities Panel (CAP).

Upon successful completion of the course, participants are able to make an application to their State Authority for a dangerous goods driver license (renewable every 5 years).

Successful participants will receive a Statement of Attainment. TLILIC0001 Licence to transport dangerous goods by road. Which will form a mandatory requirement of the licence application process.

A Dangerous Goods Driver Licence (DGDL) is required for the transport of dangerous goods in the following cases:
– in a receptacle with a capacity of more than 500L
